User-selectable or customizable database providers

Some countries can't access wowhead.com, which is bad for wowsims users, because wowsims depends on it.
For some countries, the item icon and tooltip cannot be displayed properly.

I can think of several solutions:

1. an absolute offline db. This can be used offline, but it requires a lot of work and increases the size of the software;
2. user selectable and customizable database provider. This would give the user more options, but it would increase the complexity of the software;
3. a database provider deployed by wowsims. This will increase wowsims operating costs;
4. a reverse proxy provided by wowsims. This also increases the operational costs of wowsims.

Hey @htve 👋 Wowhead is the standard tooltip provider for WoW in the West, used by sites like Raider.io and Warcraftlogs. Since it's completely unavailable in China, Elseth and others have an entirely separate WoWSimsCN client with a different tooltip provider that can be used. Due to the issues you noted (namely development and operational costs), sticking with Wowhead is by far the easiest solution that works for the majority of countries (to my knowledge) and for CN specifically, WoWSimsCN exists to serve them and can be downloaded via https://newbeebox.com/

The other issue that I just thought of is that CN clients often have entirely different changes from the standard Blizzard clients. E.g. I know that many changes were made specifically to the CN release of Wrath of the Lich King, which would require an entirely separate database generation which just further increases the amount of data that the site has to build with. All of this has already been handled in the WoWSimsCN client since those needs are very specific to China
