`GDownloader` needs an overhaul

Has a QObject base with signals and slots declared but unused.  Our interface can present as synchronous, but gotta deal with the QT thread dance no matter what.  

Note to self: when you tackle this, be sure to through test on lots of scenarios, all platforms, with/without debugger, etc.
