Router Functionality

The primary purpose of the Network Manager is to provide network access to all connected AMM Modules. The software and configuration used to deliver this functionality is detailed in the Linux Config wiki article.

Power over Ethernet Details

The other crucial functionality the Network Manager provides is powering all connected AMM Segment Modules. Fortunately, modern Power over Ethernet (PoE) standards allow the Network Manager to minimize the size of the AMM Segment Connector by using the ethernet conductors to also deliver hi levels of power to the connected AMM Segment Modules. This enables modules to directly power pumps, animatronics, and other physical actuations without requiring external power.
