AtlantisOS Project

AtlantisOS – a versatile Linux distribution based on Ubuntu, designed as a modular base project. It features A/B-slot updates, image-based root-filesystem

Hello, fans of light entertainment!

AtlantisOS

  • AtlantisOS is intended to be a basic project. AtlantisOS should make it easier to build your own Ubuntu versions. Updates should become safer and easier thanks to an a/b-like update principle.

Objectives for AtlantisOS

  • Linux distribution based on Ubuntu
  • Use of an Android-like a/b update concept
  • OS is delivered in multiple images
  • Secure app container for APT/Snap/Flatpak
  • Various desktops available
  • Easy backups (apps)
  • Simple, low-risk updates/upgrades
  • Easy administration
  • Everyone should be able to easily build a customized AtlantisOS version
  • A simple/modern user interface for all tools, based on GTK4 and Libadwaita. Pure terminal commands should only be necessary in rare cases.

Notes

  • The project is currently still in its infancy and has not yet been tested or made functional.
