+## Consistency
+
+FO has to be sustainable, future-ready, 100% server-compatible, and it should work similarly across versions. New mods and changes are carefully evaluated, to make sure they fit well with the rest of FO, they "feel" vanilla, and their authors are ready to support them in the future.

+## Familiarity
+
+One of FO's objectives is to achieve parity, where possible, with other Minecraft platforms, including Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, OptiFine, snapshots and the like. Note that parity does not necessarily mean identical behavior.

+## Neutrality
+
+FO should only give you the essential tools and fixes to your game, so it does not include any new content, nor any opinionated extras (like mini-maps, armor HUD, more sounds...). FO tries to maintain neutrality, without taking sides.

+## Privacy
+
+Your data is yours, and you must be able to choose who gets to access it. FO tries, where possible, to avoid giving your information to third-parties, including servers, mods, and Mojang. We believe you should not be punished for using innocent mods, or for using the "wrong" optimization mod.

+## Transparency
+
+FO is [open-source](https://download.fo/github), and so is most of its mods. Its [content](../info/) is clearly listed, its [changes over time](https://download.fo/changelog) are clearly outlined, and it's ready to inform its users about new game features or drastic changes (such as [Player Reporting](../info/mods/player-reporting.md)) and to alarm its users about vulnerabilities affecting the game.

+* By installing FO, YOU agree that its authors, its mods' developers, Mojang and any other third party do not provide any warranties for using it. YOU are responsible for every action YOU do with it

+# Versioning
+
+FO is consistently one of the first packs to upgrade to new Minecraft versions, thanks to its efficient versioning model.
+
+Of course, the speed at which FO is updated depends on multiple factors, including but not limited to:
+
+* Mojang's releases: new features, breaking changes...
+* Mods' updates: Fabric (which usually updates very quickly), mods...
+* New additions or removals of mods, which need testing
+* The time FO's author has to work on updates
+
+Generally, the development version of FO, which may not include all mods of a stable release, is released as soon as possible, often every week or two. Once a release is published, important updates to mods are usually quickly available.
+
+## Version Numbers
+
+An FO version is indicated by three numbers `X.Y.Z`, and a suffix for development versions (`-alpha` or `-beta`). The three numbers indicate:

+FO and its mods may not keep up with all snapshots, as they are released very quickly and they may break a lot of stuff behind the scenes. Also, support is not provided for these, see [Supported Versions](versioning.md#supported-versions) below.

+## Supported Versions
+
+Support is provided for the latest stable version of FO, and for the latest development version of FO if any.
+
+Older versions of FO, and for older Minecraft versions, are available but no longer supported. If you want to play them at your own risk, you may find a [list of older versions on CurseForge](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/fabulously-optimized/files?showAlphaFiles=show).
+

+While FO does not support outdated versions, it especially warns its users against some which are known to have vulnerabilities and are only kept for archival purposes. Those are indicated in the websites with a triangle warning sign: ⚠️.

+On the other hand, if a server you're playing on is out-of-date, you may want to [add](../how-to/add-mods/) the [ViaFabricPlus mod](https://modrinth.com/mod/viafabricplus). You should only enable it for servers where it's needed.
