Welcome to Flare Africa — a grassroots community where developers, educators, and creators come together to explore and build on the Flare Network.
This repo serves as a starting point: you’ll find resources, events, and ways to get involved in growing the ecosystem across the continent.
Flare Africa exists to make the Flare blockchain accessible and useful to African builders.
We run initiatives that focus on:
- Supporting developers with tools, docs, and learning materials
- Hosting events, meetups, and hackathons across the region
- Encouraging local content creation and education
- Showcasing real-world Web3 use cases
We believe in Web3 that is practical, local, and data-powered.
Flare is a smart contract Layer 1 that gives developers access to reliable on-chain data, while staying fully EVM-compatible.
Some of its core protocols include:
- FTSO → decentralized price feeds
- FDC → connecting to external blockchains & APIs
- FAssets → unlocking assets like BTC, XRP, DOGE for DeFi
