TechSprint: Google Developer Group On Campus VIT Hackathon

About The Hackathon

TechSprint is a hackathon organized by the Google Developer Group On Campus where participants identify local problems and build innovative solutions using Google technologies. This is the perfect opportunity for young developers to showcase their skills, learn cutting-edge technologies, and make a real-world impact on their communities!

Whether you are tackling problems in traffic management, waste disposal, healthcare access, education, sustainability, or community safety - here's your chance to build something meaningful and competitive. Learn new technologies, enhance your team collaboration and presentation skills, and get mentored by industry experts- all in one place!

Timeline

  • Start Date and Time: 6th December 2022 at 11:00 AM IST
  • End Date and Time: 13th January 2022 at 11:00 AM IST

Theme: Open Innovation

Participants should identify a local problem - such as traffic management, waste disposal, or access to education - and build solutions using Google technologies to solve it or address pressing social issues around them.

Problem Areas:

  • City Services: Optimize city services like garbage collection or traffic flow
  • Healthcare & Education: Improve access to healthcare or education in underserved areas
  • Sustainability: Promote sustainability, such as reducing energy consumption or encouraging recycling
  • Community Safety: Enhance community engagement or safety through smart apps or platforms

Participants are free to explore other pressing social issues in their communities and build solutions for them using Google technologies.

Google Technology (Mandatory Requirement)

Participants must integrate at least one Google technology in their solution.

Eligible Google Technologies:

  • Google Gemini
  • Google AI Studio
  • Firebase
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Other relevant Google technologies

Please ensure that participants clearly demonstrate how these technologies are incorporated into their solution.

Judging Parameters

  1. Project Completeness and Functionality (25%)
  • Does the project stand as an individual end-to-end product?
  • Is it a functioning solution that can scale in the real world?
  1. Creativity in Design (25%)
  • Does the project bring innovations in design and create comfortable user experiences?
  1. Innovation in Idea (25%)
  • Does the project attempt to solve a previously unsolved problem?
  1. Social Impact (25%)
  • Does the project have an impact on people's lives at a social level?

How To Submit Your Project?

Follow the steps to submit your project in the hackathon:

Via GitHub Issues:

  1. Navigate to the Issues Tab: Visit the Issues tab in the repository and click on New Issue image

  2. Select Hackathon Submission: Find the Hackathon Submission option and click on Get Started image

  3. Fill in Your Submission Details: Complete all required fields in the submission form

  4. Submit: Click Submit and your project will be officially recorded as a submission!

  • ✅ Innovative solution using Google technologies
  • ✅ Proper implementation and working prototype/demo
  • ✅ Well-documented code and clear presentation
  • ✅ Real-world social impact potential

Rules and Code of Conduct

All participants must agree to the Rules and Code of Conduct to participate in the Hackathon.
