The repository contains tools for estimating fluorescence signals for a variety of biological fluorophores. The tool is built to work with the ISETCam and ISET3d software repositories. The toolbox is useful for creating the excitation-emission matrices of many different fluorophores.
The tool is also useful for simulating image systems (illuminants and cameras) that are designed to measure fluorescence quantitatively using non-invasive methods.
The first paper on this topic will be presented by JEF at the Electronic Imaging conference of the IS&T in January, 2020. After the paper has been submitted, we will further develop this wiki page and the associated documentation. For now, please use the code 'Readme' page to see how to download and install the repository and its dependencies. The whole repository works on top of ISETCam.
The functions in this repository originated with work by Henryk Blasinski on fluorescence that will be published shortly in the IEEE PAMI. The programs have been edited, reorganized and new data sets added by Wandell. New extensions to the branch of PBRT that works with ISET3d have been added by Zheng Lyu and Haomiao Jiang. That tool produces fluorescent signals using surface models that are described using the data and software in this repository.
