Why are we doing this? This is one feature I would think needs to be off for new users.

It makes normal editing kinda noisy.

Did you try it recently? We think it is now less obtrusive ; we now show inline completions, and you can just type on without interacting if you don't want it, and we disabled (in this PR) the gutter animation by default.

for a lot of people autocomplete is an important part of the ai-editting experience, so we think it is a good default to have it on (which is in line with what competitors like copilot and cursor do).

Well, it was enabled by default without my consent, and generated cost, what do you think?
