Uninstallation

Using the installer you can remove SDL from your PC. Please run the uninstaller from the account used to install SDL to ensure the Windows Shell is restored.
To uninstall SDL go to C:\Steam Deck Launcher and open unins000.exe
To open the uninstaller without being able to use the Windows Shell (eg black screen when logging in) open the Task Manager by pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE from the options select Task Manager, press Run new task and enter C:\Steam Deck Launcher\unins000.exe

If you are unable to use the included uninstaller from the account used to install SDL then please use the below steps to remove SDL.
- Delete
C:\Steam Deck Launcher\Folder. - Proceed with the relevant scenario below.
I can access the user account used to install SDL (includes when you get blackscreen after logging in).
3. Pressing CTRL+ ALT + DELETE from the options select Task Manager

Run new taskand enterRegedit -
Once registry editor is open navigate to
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon -
Delete the key called
Shell -
Close registry editor, log out and back in
SDL is now uninstalled
I can not access the user account used to install SDL.

navigate to the user folder for the account SDL was installed to, this is usually in
C:\Users -
Load the
NTUSER.DATand enter any name you like -
Navigate to
Computer\HKEY_USERS\<NAME SELECTED IN STEP 7>\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon -
Delete the key called
Shell -
Close registry editor, log out and back in
SDL is now uninstalled.
