note: the netflix specific eventbus is almost exactly swappable with guava's. While looking at transparent deps updates is a good thing, some need mild refactoring and could be considered, too.

I landed here because I wanted to bump the underlying version of aws-java-sdk-core that is used by eureka-core. Currently, aws-java-sdk-core - 1.11.x still uses ion-java which has been deemed to have security vulnerabilities.

Am I in a dead end? Is there any prospect that we bump to 1.12.x, which has gotten rid of ion-java?
Since this is quite an old MR, I'd be willing to contribute a follow-up one if there's anyone to support me with releasing it.
