Convert Collections to Empties, all objects assigned to collection will be parented to the new generated Empty. Naming is carried over also.
Download the collec2empty.py file in this repo.
Go to scripting tab, open new text file and paste script.
Go to Text menu and press Run Script (Shortcut is Alt + P)
Tested in Blender 4.3.0
