Summary of Changes

Hello @SiriusXT, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request introduces a new feature that allows users to open notes from the tree view into a dedicated, separate window. This enhancement provides greater flexibility in managing and viewing notes, offering an alternative to opening them in new tabs or split views, thereby improving the overall user experience for note organization and access.

Highlights

  • New Command: A new command type, openNoteInWindow, has been added to the application's context command mappings, enabling the functionality to open notes in a separate window.
  • Tree Context Menu Integration: A new 'Open in a new window' option has been integrated into the tree view's context menu. Selecting this option will trigger the openInWindow command, passing the relevant note path and hoisted ID.
  • Localization: A new translation key for 'Open in a new window' has been added to the English translation file, ensuring the new menu item is properly localized.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Code Review

This pull request adds the functionality to open a note in a new window from the tree's context menu. The implementation is solid and follows existing patterns in the codebase. A new openNoteInWindow command is added to the context menu, which correctly triggers the more generic openInWindow command, passing along the notePath and the hoistedNoteId from the active context. The necessary type definitions in app_context.ts and the translation string in translation.json are also correctly added. The changes are clean, well-scoped, and I couldn't find any issues.
