- Open VSCode and go to **File > Preferences > Settings**
- Search for "**Integrated Terminal**" or "**Terminal**" in the settings search bar.
- Click on "**Open settings.json**" to directly edit the settings file.

Preferences: Open User Settings (JSON) in the command palette may be easier. it didnt give me the direct option "Open Settings.json" going through this method. there were just several links, "Edit Settings.json" that were on some of the options in the list.
