Problem

When searching for values containing MySQL wildcards (% and _), these characters are interpreted as wildcard patterns rather than literal characters, resulting in incorrect query results.

Solution

  • Added addcslashes() to escape % and _ in search terms before they are used in LIKE or ILIKE queries.
  • Ensures these characters are treated as literals during the search process.

Testing

  • Verified locally that searches with % or _ return accurate results without unintended wildcard behavior.
  • Ensured no regression in existing query functionality.

Contribution

This change adheres to the PSR-2 coding standards and follows the contribution guidelines outlined in the repository.
