Hi, I'm Adrian Borup 👋

☕ Converting caffeine into code in real-time

I'm the CTO @ Filify, based in Denmark. For the past decade, I've been deep in software engineering - through startups, academia, personal projects, and as a founder. I love solving tough algorithmic challenges, building high-performance systems, and moving fast in the startup world.

Outside of coding, I’m an avid heavy-metal fan (you’ll find me at Copenhell each year), and I also enjoy cooking, coffee, strength training, and bicycles.

🚀 Featured Projects

Some of the projects I'm most proud of can be found in my pinned repositories below.

🧑‍💻 About Me

  • Passionate Engineer: My interests range from low-level systems programming in Rust to building web apps with TypeScript and React. I focus on performance, scalability, and fault-tolerant cloud-based APIs. My bachelor’s thesis dug into NVMe SSD protocols to speed up exascale scientific computing platforms.

  • Full Stack Development: While I lean more toward backend engineering, I enjoy building end-to-end features. I care about designing APIs that are performant, secure, and developer-friendly - and I like making sure the frontend experience holds up too.

  • Competitive Programming: I’m passionate about algorithmic problem-solving. I stay active on Kattis and Advent of Code, always looking to learn more. At university, I advanced to NWERC (Northwestern Europe Regional Contest) and my master’s thesis explored cutting-edge maximum flow algorithms.

  • Startups: Startups and high responsibility energize me. As CTO, I’ve built Europe’s largest influencer affiliate platform from zero to one, scaling it to handle tens of thousands of users and millions in automated payments.
