Following other lessons and an effort by the Carpentries to include statements on AI I have added a getting help section to the end of the setup page which has info on the use of AI etc with slightly modified Carpentries text.

Examples of this being introduced in other Carpentries lessons:

Thank you!

Thank you for your pull request 😃

🤖 This automated message can help you check the rendered files in your submission for clarity. If you have any questions, please feel free to open an issue in {sandpaper}.

If you have files that automatically render output (e.g. R Markdown), then you should check for the following:

  • 🎯 correct output
  • 🖼️ correct figures
  • ❓ new warnings
  • ‼️ new errors

Rendered Changes

🔍 Inspect the changes: https://github.com/carpentries-incubator/intro-to-modern-fortran/compare/md-outputs..md-outputs-PR-48

The following changes were observed in the rendered markdown documents:

 md5sum.txt | 2 +-
 setup.md   | 75 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
 2 files changed, 76 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-)
What does this mean?

If you have source files that require output and figures to be generated (e.g. R Markdown), then it is important to make sure the generated figures and output are reproducible.

This output provides a way for you to inspect the output in a diff-friendly manner so that it's easy to see the changes that occur due to new software versions or randomisation.

Hi,

I've left a few comments. Feel free to ignore those you think wouldn't add any value.

Looks good overall!

These are good hints given that the fortran situation is a bit difficult, no help in REPL and searches turn up a lot of different compiler's docs.
I have other ideas (add compiler warnings, do minimal examples, get IDE hints) but they are more debugging strategies than social "getting help" ideas. Can we add a link to a later debugging section as in https://swcarpentry.github.io/python-novice-inflammation/01-intro.html#getting-help ?
