Congratulations! Once your Compilation Excel File is prepared and your template is designed, you're ready to let MCR do its work.
- Open MCR: Launch the latest version of the MCR Excel workbook.
- Load Template: Click the "Upload Template" button and select your prepared Word (.docx) or PowerPoint (.pptx) template file.
- Load Compilation File: Click the "Upload Compilation Excel File" button and choose your Compilation Excel File.
- Choose Output Folder: Select the destination folder where you want MCR to save the generated individualized reports.
- Select Output Format: Choose your desired output format: PPT (PowerPoint) or PDF.
- Run MCR: Click the "Run MCR" button to start the compilation process.
A progress indicator bar will appear, showing you the compilation status.
Time Estimates: The time it takes to generate reports can vary significantly based on:
- The length and complexity of your template.
- The amount of individualized data (text, numbers, images).
- Your computer's processing speed.
- Example: When we compiled 78 reports, each 19 pages long with 18 unique placeholders, it took between 20-30 minutes.
Check for Errors: After MCR finishes, it will generate an "error" sheet within the MCR workbook. Always check this sheet. It will report if any image files could not be found or inserted into the individualized reports, helping you troubleshoot issues.
