Redflame Colorizer is a minimal and powerful Max for Live device for Ableton Live that automatically assigns colors to your tracks based on instrument types.
When you drop the device into your Live Set, it immediately scans all existing tracks and clips, and applies a color scheme based on their names. For example:

Both tracks and clips (in Session View) will be colorized.
- Open your Ableton Live set.
- Drag the
Redflame Colorizer.amxddevice into main track. - Boom — track names are analyzed and colored automatically.
- Rename any track — the color will update instantly.
To clone and use this TypeScript-based color mapping logic in your own Max for Live project:

Install dependencies (only needed once):
npm install

Open the project in VS Code or your preferred editor.

Edit or extend the
colorMapinsidecolorize.tsto customize track type detection. -
Open the
.amxdMax for Live device with Max and integrate the updated logic if needed.
💡 This repository is structured so that the TypeScript logic can be reused across different devices. You can also extract the mapping logic into your own
.amxdproject or device patch.
