This is extremely simple homepage where you can display all your most used sites.
Implementation is just 80 lines of pure html/css/js!
The only thing it does is renders nested (in any depth) links from items.js file. There is no search, keybinds or any logic related to opening links.
How to use it then? Just embrace your browser's functionality.
In firefox you can press / (as in vim btw) and enter in quicksearch mode, then type any substring of link you want and press enter to open link. Furthermore, you can toggle "Search for text when you start typing" in firefox settings to open links more easily.
I don't know and don't care if there is something similar to firefox' quicksearch in chromium browser, so I recommend try out firefox (or zen if you like bloat) with this homepage.

Refer to items-example.js and create your own items.js near index.html
In firefox settings open Home tab and select Custom URLs... in Homepage and new windows.
Put file:// url to index.html in Paste a URL..
If you don't know how to get file:// url, just open index.html in browser and copy url.
Firefox will open your homepage only when you open new firefox window. I didn't figured out how to enforce firefox to open my homepage on every new tab, so I recomend you to change or at least learn shortcut for opening homepage in about:keyboard
