Summary

This PR makes two changes:

  1. Renames "Auto" to "Pro" for the Hyprnote provider's model name in the Intelligence settings section of the desktop app. This affects:

    • The model selection dropdown when Hyprnote provider is selected
    • The default model set during onboarding trial setup

  2. Adds a new FAQ page (10.ai-models.mdx) in the web documentation covering:

    • Which AI models Hyprnote uses
    • What data is sent to AI providers
    • Data privacy practices for cloud AI
    • Local AI options for privacy-conscious users
    • Guidance on choosing an AI provider
    • GDPR compliance information

Updates since last revision

  • Added backward compatibility for existing users: The settings UI now normalizes the legacy "Auto" model name to display as "Pro" for users who already have Hyprnote provider configured. This ensures existing users see "Pro" in the UI without requiring a data migration.

Review & Testing Checklist for Human

  • Verify FAQ content accuracy: The data privacy claims (e.g., "not retained on servers after processing", "data processing agreements with AI providers") should be reviewed for accuracy
  • Test the desktop app: Confirm "Pro" displays correctly in Settings > AI > Intelligence when Hyprnote provider is selected
  • Test existing user migration: Simulate an existing user with "Auto" stored in settings and verify the UI displays "Pro" correctly
  • Review FAQ wording: Ensure the descriptions of which AI providers are used (OpenAI, Anthropic) are accurate and appropriately vague for future flexibility

Recommended test plan:

  1. Open the desktop app and navigate to Settings > AI > Intelligence
  2. Select "Hyprnote" as the provider and verify "Pro" appears as the model option
  3. Run through onboarding flow to verify "Pro" is set as default for trial users
  4. To test migration: manually set current_llm_model to "Auto" in settings storage, reload the app, and verify "Pro" is displayed
  5. Check the web docs FAQ page renders correctly at /docs/faq/ai-models
