Instructions
I am using foreman to have sidekiq and rails run together.
Be sure foreman and redis are set up
bundle installforeman startlocalhost:3000I kept the UI super basic as per instrucitons
Sidekiq runs every 5 minutes and pulls down the latest Hacker News Ids. These are then compared to the ones already saved in the local DB. If it is a new Id and additional request to Hacker News is done to get the details of the the Article and saves the information to the local DB.
These
NewsDetailsare then shown on a paginated index page to the User. A user will need to log in to be able to see this index page. On this page the user can upvote or down vote an article. There is also an additional page to show liked articles
