when it was enabled it caused the focus to be lost, and it wasn't clear that the user needs to click on the input again with the mouse to gain focus again. now the tab is just disabled so the focus can't be lost
which will be used from local commands via the Context object, and for remote modules
the `application` module had a reference to a MainView instance, but it wasn't used
