I was having issues with running this locally. It seems an incompatibility between node v18 and this project; particularly the node-sass version used. The version compatibility table on node-sass npm page shows that v8 is the appropriate version for the latest node LTS version, node v18.
This may address #42 as it reported issues with v19, however I only tested with v18 and it works.
