Information on real tuned OTA Over The Air FM radio on Android smart-phones & the occasional, rare small tablet.

In the "dark ages" of technology, analog, over the air radio was used as an audible mass market medium for the transmission of entertainment and information. For many people, this is still true and some want to receive, or even transmit, FM radio frequencies on their smart-phone.

Alas, Google does not seem interested in enabling FM radio, nor do many of the (US etc.) carriers, even when the hardware supports FM and it is effectively disabled, at the hardware or software level.
