I'm Júlia. I write code to help bioinformaticians!
I have a background in Biology, with a focus on Genetics and Genomics. During my undergrad, I discovered I could combine two things I love, understanding how genomes work and creating through code, through bioinformatics.
Although I’m still passionate about genetics and synthetic biology, I’ve shifted toward a more technical path.
I code mostly in Python.
During my master’s thesis I fell in love with Nextflow.

I’m an active supporter of open source, part of the nf-core
community and a Nextflow ambassador.
I’m also committed to supporting women in STEM: I’ve been part of Young IT Girls (check them out, they are cool!) and a mentor in the Technovation Challenge. I love helping young girls and women grow in tech.
I am a researcher. Currently working at the CRG, developing a way to allow the benchmark of analysis tools. Recently, I’ve been diving into LLMs and MCP, I really enjoy learning new things.
I’m also a freelancer. I have started working on a personal project to help coding teachers guide their students better. And open to small projects and collaborations.
