MUG Host
If you are reading this document, it's because you are considering on hosting a MongoDB User Group.
A perfect host will have a room adapted for the MUG event which could be a conference style event (most of the cases) or it could be a hackathon style room if people are exepected to use their laptops.
A good conference room with enough chairs for everyone, a large screen or video projector with HDMI and a reliable Internet connection is really all we need to run a MUG successfully.
You will need to make sure people can find the venue. If it is complicated to access the premise, please make sure the MUG organiser is aware of all the details (badges, exact address, floor & building number, etc). Signs on the path to the venue from the street could be a good idea.
A good meetup is composed of some great technical content and a great networking session around a superbe buffet. Whether you sponsor the buffet or not, you will need to provide a dedicated space so everyone can access the food and the beverages.
We do not know ahead. We can bet, but we will never have a precise number before the actual event happens.
You can track the registrations on the meetup page that the MUG organiser will communicate you but until the very last minute, you will not know exactly. Usually about 50% of the registered people will finally turn in so you can plan with that number in mind.
