Open Administrator Terminal

Install WSL for Windows
wsl --install wsl --install Ubuntu-22.04

Start WSL in Terminal with
wsl
(Or as app)

(WSL/Ubuntu): Update package lists and System
sudo apt update # update the Ubuntu package lists sudo apt upgrade # actually install new packages/versions

Install compiler\
xcode-select --install
sudo apt install build-essential
If you want to use clang, also:
sudo apt install clang

Now try the compiler command:
gcc
Or if you downloaded clang:
clang
You should see the compiler ask for an input file

Install editor (VSCode/CLion/NVim/other)

Try to compile hello world

Move to helloWorld.c file in terminal

Compile the file
clang helloWorld.c -o helloWorld.out

Run the file
./helloWorld.out

You can use the wsl command to execute linux commands in the windows Terminal
wsl <command>
This means you can open a folder in VSCode directly in the wsl from windows:
wsl code . #open the current folder ( . ) in vscode
