The installation process of the latest version of the Interpreting and Checking tool has been improved to require less input from the user. After checking that both Microsoft Excel® and the Catalogue browser (minimum version required is 1.2.6) are installed on your computer, the following steps should be performed in order to correctly install the tool:

  1. Launch the Catalogue Browser and then open (or download it if it doesn't appear on the list of local catalogues) the latest version of the MTX (FoodEx2 Matrix) catalogue. Please, note that if you are not provided with the Data Collection Framework (DCF) credentials, it is still possible to download catalogues by using the OpenAPI function. Otherwise, use the offline version of the catalogue (downloadable from here in '.ecf' extension) which can be imported locally in the browser. Once the MTX (FoodEX2 Matrix) catalogue has been downloaded or imported, make sure that it is correctly opened by checking its name just below the main menu as shown in the figure below:

  2. From the main menu click on 'tools' and select the Install ICT option.

  3. This command will generate a prompt message which will ask to continue or not with the installation of the tool.

Note that in this step it is required to have an Internet connection so to download the tool from the GitHub platform.

  4. If 'Yes' is clicked then the installation process will start by firstly downloading the tool from the GitHub followed by the extraction and the setup of all the files inside the Catalogue browser's main folder .
