Some API calls to Canvas were taking a very long time and this was causing us to timeout. While it isn't good for Canvas to be taking +5 seconds to add a calendar event, we shouldn't be failing.
We include the reason is the error now so it's easier to debug in the future.

The timeouts in tool-support were too short for some slow API calls to Canvas.
