And this is how the game works.

The King can run, jump, blow bubbles, jump on bubbles. If the King hits an enemy, he looses health.

The King starts with 3 hearts and 3 lifes. Hearts represent the health, every hit with an enemy removes one heart from the Kings health. If health reaches 0, the King dies and looses one life. If the King looses 3 lifes, the player looses the game. Health can be replenished by drinking the right potion. There is only a secret way to get an extra life and that one is very scarce and good hidden.

Bubbles have a lifetime of 10 seconds. They move into the direction in which the King was facing when blowing the bubble. After 3 seconds they start to move upwards. If the surrounding allows for that.

If a bubble hits an enemy, the enemy will be enclosed within the bubble for 10 seconds. Enclosed enemies do nut hurt the King. If the King hits the bubble within that time frame, the bubble (and the enemy) get destroyed. If the bubble does not get destroyed in time, the enemy gets free again. And some of the enemies get really angry afterwards.

The King moves through Screens which are situated on a bigger Level. One Level is usually a 40 x 30 matrix of 32 pixel squares. One screen is 10 x 8 pixels big (just one 32blit screen). Exceptions to that are to be expected in later levels.

Every screen contains no, one or multiple enemies. The King can only move on to the next screen, when all enemies on one screen are killed (or left the screen). Multiple screens can be merged into one logical screen where the King can roam freely (and the level scrolls accordingly)

The King is guided through the whole level. While he usually moves on his own (well through the user...), there are special cases where he is transported magically to another location. This usually happens when the King leaves the Level matrix and enters it at another location.
