Reopening #1210 after reverting in 08b2a91.
The current expressjs/express v5 docs (which still incorrectly shows as beta) and their package.json describes a requirement of node
v18 >=. A crash was observed on staging after merging #1210 work but the versions there are as follows:Unsure of the failure so will investigate the requirements of express' dependencies further and make the appropriate updates to the deployment environments before pushing this work up again.
