Paved Paths
Paved paths serve two practical purposes. First, players and vehicles move faster on paved surfaces — stone bricks make a slight difference, and refined concrete makes the biggest. Building dedicated paths through your factory and between outposts can meaningfully reduce travel time. Second, paving is a useful way to mark out factory areas visually and give your base a clear sense of layout and organization spatially.
Stone bricks are available from the start by smelting stone. Concrete and refined concrete are unlocked later with logistics science.
To place a paving tile, hold the tile item in hand and press LEFT BRACKET. Each press covers a 3×3 area centred on you, consuming 9 tiles. Tiles already of the same type are not recharged. If another paving type was there before, it is collected without penalty.
To remove paving, hold any paving item in hand and press X to mine a 2×2 area in front of you. The tiles are returned and the original terrain is restored.
Landfill fills water tiles using the same 3×3 placement as paving. Placing landfill is irreversible.
