Spawners are entities that allow you to automate the creation of Infected across the map. They can be configured in the options menu to change their spawn rate, positioning, the type of zombies they create, and more.
Spawners come in two variants:
- Point Spawner: Creates a single infected on the point it was spawned, similarly to the Type Zero Spawner from BA1. When the infected dies, a new one will spawn at the Point Spawner's location after (ba2_hs_interval) seconds. Good to use if you want measured amounts of infected to come from fixed points, like a cave opening or a van.
-
Horde Spawner: Automatically spawns a large number of infected at random points across the map. Be prepared for a fight!
- The Horde Spawner can not spawn infected closer to players than dictated by the Safe Radius setting. Turn it down if the map is too small, or turn it up if the infected are spawning within your holdout.
- The first time you spawn a Horde Spawner, you'll likely feel a series of stutters as the models of the infected it spawns are cached. This is normal and will end after a few seconds.
Spawners will function indefinitely until they are deleted. When they are removed, all of the infected they made will instantly despawn with them.
